What is ICSI?

ICSI (Intra-Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection) is a laboratory fertilization technique where an embryologist selects a single high-quality sperm and injects it directly into an egg under a microscope. The fertilized egg is then cultured until it reaches the Blastocyst stage before being transferred back into the uterine cavity.

Preparation for ICSI

To maximize the chances of success, both partners should follow these guidelines:

General: Strictly avoid smoking and alcohol, as toxins directly damage the quality of both sperm and eggs.

For Women: Ensure 7–8 hours of sleep, maintain a healthy diet, and undergo preliminary health checks (blood tests, hormones, and ultrasounds).

For Men: Abstain from ejaculation for 2–5 days before sperm collection to ensure optimal volume and quality.

Medical Transparency: Inform the doctor of all current medications, underlying conditions, or drug allergies.
