I’ve been living in Thailand for a while, and one thing I noticed pretty quickly is how many expats and international friends fly to Thailand specifically to do dental work instead of going back home. At first, I was skeptical is it really that good?

After going through it myself and hearing multiple firsthand stories, it started to make a lot more sense.

1. First thing: the cost
In many Western countries, dental work can be insanely expensive especially implants, crowns, veneers, or root canals.
In Thailand, the prices are significantly lower, but it doesn’t feel like you’re sacrificing quality.

2 Quality and professionalism
Most clinics I’ve been to are modern, clean, and well-equipped.
Dentists take time to explain everything, don’t rush you, and don’t aggressively upsell treatments.
Many of them trained abroad and are very comfortable communicating in English.

3 Patient experience is honestly impressive
This surprised me the most.
Appointments run on time (which is… not always common elsewhere 😅).
Staff are friendly and attentive, and some clinics even follow up after treatment to check how you’re feeling.

4 Dental work + travel combo
A lot of people turn it into a “dental trip.”
Get treatment done in Bangkok over a few days, then head to the beach or up north to relax and recover.
It’s surprisingly convenient.

If you need major dental work and aren’t in a huge rush, I totally get why people choose to come to Thailand rather than do it back home.
