Levels of Dental Sedation

BIDH provides customized worry-free dentistry based on your dental treatment needs, complexity and anxiety level:

• Mild Sedation : Relaxes you using oral medications or nitrous oxide (laughing gas / twilight sedation). You remain conscious but are placed in a relaxed state. Commonly used for routine procedures like teeth cleaning, dental fillings or veneers.

• Moderate Sedation: Administered via intravenous (IV) sedation places you in a semi-conscious state. You remain awake able to respond to verbal cues but unaware of your experience. Treatments commonly done with IV sedations are root canals, wisdom teeth removal or dental implant surgeries.

• Deep Sedation & General Anesthesia: Also known as sleep dentistry. You are placed into a complete, deep sleep within a sterile and fully equipped operating theatre. You will have absolutely no recollection of the treatment. This sedation option is recommended for extensive full-mouth extractions, complex oral surgery or full-jaw implant reconstructions All-on-4 or ProArch.

Unlike standard dental clinics, BIDH operates under strict international hospital standards for both sterilization, infection control and its sedation system. All moderate, deep sedation, and general anesthesia cases are continuously monitored by a licensed, board-certified general anesthesiologist. BIDH has dedicated hospital facilities for Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) that has specialized monitoring equipment to track vital signs and blood oxygen saturation. Continuous licensed nursing care trained on Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and the option for in-patient rooms overnight monitoring is available.
