Our Andrology Lab focuses on providing comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services for male reproductive health. Here are some key services we offer: 

• Semen Analysis (SA): This test determines the number, shape, and motility of sperm. Low sperm count or dysfunctional sperm is a major reason behind male infertility. 

• Computer Assisted Semen Analysis (CASA): We employ advanced software to evaluate individual sperm parameters. The software captures images of sperm from a microscope with high sensitivity, providing more accurate results regarding movement rates and sperm shape. 

• DNA Fragmentation Test (Halosperm): We use the sperm chromatin dispersion test (SCD) method to examine the quality of sperm DNA. Regular sperm DNA will produce a characteristic halo around the sperm head. In contrast, if the sperm is damaged or has DNA fragmentation, the halo will not appear or will barely be visible. 

• Sperm MACs: This technique allows us to select spermatozoa with the best characteristics for use in assisted reproduction treatments. It removes apoptotic spermatozoa, or those that will die without achieving fertilization, thus increasing the possibility of pregnancy. 

• PICSI Dish: We utilize technologies for selecting the best sperm for IVF/ICSI, especially when there is a history of sperm damage or DNA fragmentation. 

• Double-Washing Sperm: This is a sperm preparation technique that significantly reduces the risk of transmission of Hepatitis A, B, C or HIV in couples desiring children. 

• Sperm Freezing: This method allows men to preserve their sperm for future use. Sperm freezing is beneficial for men who cannot provide sperm on the same day as egg retrieval, men undergoing radiation therapy, men using birth control, and others receiving medical treatments that could damage sperm quality. Sperm can be preserved at -196 °C in liquid nitrogen for up to 10 years. 

In our Genetic Lab, we provide advanced genetic testing technologies such as Next Generation Sequencing for Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT). These tests are performed on an embryo prior to implantation and aid in the selection of the best embryo for transfer, ensuring healthier pregnancy outcomes.
