Gentle warning. Don't read this whilst eating or easily grossed out

I've lived in Thailand for a few years now and the hospitals are great if you go to the top 4-5.

But today I became a little less trusting.

I do a yearly health check and they told me they found some blood in my stool.

So I went to get a consultation from a specialist the next week and he instantly said I need to get knocked out with drugs and a camera put inside me to check my intestines.

- No additional checks.
- No second opinion.
- Straight into the most costly and complicated solution.

I told the doctor I'd like to get my stool checked again for a second and third time, which he said they could.

But I told them I'm going to go to another hospital to have it checked by 2 other different hospitals, just to make sure the results were not biased.

I went to one on the way home and instantly get an email saying there was no blood in my stool. I'm going to go to another soon to get a final opinion.

But the lesson here I think for me is this hospital often tries to say something is wrong with you and tries to insist on the highest priced package.

Just be careful and get a second opinion if you are unsure. Don't dive into the deep end. Especially when a doctor is trying to put a camera up your ass.
